Military Activities & Programs
SCA's military tradition offers a variety of activities and special programs designed to develop leadership qualities, self-confidence, and self-discipline.
Daily Military Time
Students in 3rd - 8th grade participate in afternoon instruction directed by the military department. This is in addition to the regular school day and takes place from 3:00 – 3:30 four days per week.
Military instruction activities include:
Flag salute
Classroom seminars in leadership
Practical leadership exercises
Company games and group competitions
Obstacle course
Basic drill instruction
Cadet handbook training
First aid
Land navigation
Survival swimming
Special Programs
Cadets also participate in special programs through the military department. These activities allow students to become more involved in the community while further promoting self-discipline and teamwork.
Special military department programs include:
Christmas, Easter, and June Drill
Community parades
Color guard
Honor guard
Competitive drill team
Marching band

Congratulations to our competitive drill team, who received a honorable mention from the Association of Military Colleges & Schools of the United States (AMCSUS). Our middle school cadets competed via video against mostly high schools from around the country. Check out the video below to see our drill team in action!
