Dominican Sisters Commemorate Golden Jubilee

It is a great joy to announce that Dominican Sisters Johnellen Turner, O.P. and Sandra Rees O.P. will celebrate their Golden Jubilee this month.  Turner and Rees entered the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose in 1967.  They will celebrate their renewal and commitment of religious life during this very special time.

Sister Johnellen and Sister Sandra entered the congregation 50 years ago, and have served in various ministries throughout the past five decades. Sister Johnellen currently serves as the President/Administrator of St. Catherine’s Academy, an all-boys Catholic school with a military tradition.  For the past 29 years, Sister Sandra has assumed the role of Resident Care Provider at St. Catherine’s Academy’s Bravo Company dormitory.

The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose are a Religious Congregation based in Fremont, California who are committed to serving the young, the poor and the vulnerable and work to bring forth the good news of the Gospel in the United States and Mexico in schools, parishes, universities, and other settings. Saint Dominic de Guzman founded the Order of Preachers, or Dominicans, at the beginning of the 13th century.
