Students and Staff Come Together to Celebrate Formation Day

St. Catherine’s Academy (SCA), an all-boys Catholic School with a Military Tradition in Anaheim, CA will participate in their 6th Annual Formation Day on Wednesday October 26, 2016 from 8am-3pm. During this event, all staff and students will engage in various team-building activities, learn about the Dominican Charism and enjoy a day of fun and camaraderie.

On this day, the school will suspend all classes. All students in grades Transitional Kindergarten to 8th grade and all staff from all departments will participate. Students and staff will be broken into SCA’s existing companies – Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Each company will then be designated to a Dominican Saint and will wear matching t-shirts that symbolize a specific pillar of the Dominican Charism.

The day will start off at SCA’s sports field.  There will be a series of team-building exercises.  After the drills, students and staff will meet at the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel for prayers, singing and learning about the Dominican Saints.  The day will include a delicious barbecue at the school’s picnic tables located at Mother Pia Park.

“Formation Day is a day where we can all come together to learn more about the Dominican Charism and the contribution it has on the education of our students,” said SCA principal Sister Johnellen Turner, OP.
“Students and staff will learn to live of our four Dominican pillars: Community, Ministry, Study and Prayer.”
