Grandparents' Day Celebrated at St. Catherine's Academy

St. Catherine’s Academy (SCA), an all boys’ Catholic School with a military tradition Orange County, CA will be celebrating Grandparents’ Day on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at their Anaheim location.  SCA will be inviting grandparents of current students to participate in a special celebration which includes Mass, followed by a delicious brunch and an afternoon filled with fun activities. It will be a day where both grandparents and their grandchildren will create fond memories.

More than 100 grandparents will attend this special day and will be recognized for their selfless efforts. Since 1978, Grandparents’ Day has been in observance on the first Sunday of September, after Labor Day. The annual tradition at SCA will recognize grandparents for their love, guidance and the growing impact they have on the well-being of their grandchildren. The day will start off with students offering a warm welcome to grandparents followed by liturgy and food and a day dedicated just for them. Students and families of St. Catherine’s look forward to the event each year.

St. Catherine’s Academy currently has over 160 cadets in grades transitional kindergarten to 8th grade. With more than 127 years of existence, SCA is the oldest all-boys’ Catholic school with military tradition in Orange County and the only school of its type in the United States. Apart from local students of different areas of Orange County, the rest of SCA boarding students originate from Mexico, China, Nigeria, Vietnam and Tonga. SCA offers day and 5 or 7 -day boarding options.
