Dear St. Catherine’s Community,
At St. Catherine’s Academy, our primary concern is always for the well-being of our students, employees and families. We continue to closely monitor updates from a variety of sources regarding the impact of COVID-19. Please note, there are currently no known cases of COVID-19 within the St. Catherine’s Community. We are committed to continue taking precautions, preparing for contingencies, and providing regular updates. Over the next several days, we will have a deep cleaning of the school.
It has now been determined that school will be closed to students on Monday, March 16,
2020 – Friday, April, 3. The following two weeks of April 6 and April 13 are Easter
Vacation weeks and school will be reopened on April 20.
During this time, the teachers will be involved in remote (online) learning. We are preparing work for our students which will be a strong reinforcement of their learning. Any new curriculum materials will be presented after Easter. We will do all we can to assist with academic instruction for this extended period of time.
Grades TK, K, 1, 2, and 3 will receive work packets in the mail next week. Our goal is to provide quality academic content and instruction during this time of transition from classroom instruction to a digital/online forum.
Grade 4 - 8 will be able to access their academic materials via Google Classroom beginning on Wednesday, March 18. Should they have any questions, please email teachers who are ready to assist them.
All sporting events including volleyball and all other school functions will be suspended during this time.
Our Military Ball will be postponed to Thursday, June 11.
To keep our community safe, families are asked to observe the following:
- If you learn that your son or any family members have been exposed to COVID-19, please notify the school by emailing email@example.com.
- School offices currently remain open. We encourage you to call or email before visiting campus.
- If you have any needs during this time that I can help you with, please don’t hesitate to call me.
We encourage families to follow CDC recommendations regarding hand washing and other precautions. Please join us in praying for those affected and for a quick resolution. We will further communicate promptly as we receive additional information. Please check your email and visit stcatherinesacademy.org regularly for ongoing updates.
God’s special blessings and continuous prayers –
Your loving and grateful,
Sister Johnellen, OP
